Owl Mobile

Even better than the Batmobile...especially for getting Calvin to stop crying!

It's finally finished and set up. And the stuffed snowy owls are perched in place to look over Calvin in his sleep. For the mobile, I used a combination of the owlet pattern from my previous post and the branch mobile pattern from "Amigurumi Two" by Ana Paula Rimoli. I am so happy with the way it came out and Calvin agrees. Except for when the owls stop moving. As you can see, he is clearly upset and wants Mommy to stop taking pictures!

Baptism Bonnet and Booties

Calvin was baptized last Sunday. What an angel! He slept through the whole mass and didn't even cry during the ceremony when they poured water over his head. He wore a "vintage" romper that was worn by James and his brother when they were baptized. And Mommy made Calvin a beautiful bonnet that was based off of this Lion Brand pattern. I had to resize it based on the yarn I had and since Calvin is only 2 months old, I made it a little smaller than suggested in the pattern. I used this pattern for the booties, but used the same picot edging pattern from the bonnet for the edging. He looked quite adorable if I do say so myself!

Owl Shelf

Did you really expect anything less than a Snowy Owl theme for Calvin's room? Complete with a vintage Snow Owl Apples crate label and the Ookpik Book purchased on Etsy. I am on a treasure hunt for Ookpik Golden Books now...books for which I don't have to pay over $100 that is! I made Owlet and Scarlet using this pattern. And I can't wait to share another project that I created using mini owlets!

Our New Little Owl!

Introducing Calvin John, born on April 12th at 2:05 a.m.

As I'm writing this post, our precious baby boy has grown so much that his snowy owl hat doesn't fit anymore. But if James has anything to do with it, mommy will make him a new one soon! I made up the pattern through trial and error because I was too cheap to buy a pattern online, but I love the way it came out. More baby creations to come!

Crochet Projects

Just wanted to share some crochet projects that I made while sitting on the couch being too tired to get up and post anything. I had this Sweet November Scarf pattern bookmarked for a while to make for myself. I also made this Seashell Poncho for our friend's new baby girl. She looks so adorable wearing it, I can't even take it!!

Next project is an owl mobile for Baby Turkosz (who I'm obviously allergic to as evidenced by this picture) to hang in the nursery. Only 8 more weeks!
