Crochet Projects

Just wanted to share some crochet projects that I made while sitting on the couch being too tired to get up and post anything. I had this Sweet November Scarf pattern bookmarked for a while to make for myself. I also made this Seashell Poncho for our friend's new baby girl. She looks so adorable wearing it, I can't even take it!!

Next project is an owl mobile for Baby Turkosz (who I'm obviously allergic to as evidenced by this picture) to hang in the nursery. Only 8 more weeks!

Crochet Butterfly Necklace

I made this seaside butterfly necklace for my friend's birthday from this pattern. I made the butterfly a while ago and hid it so she wouldn't find it when she came over to crochet. Of course, I left it unfinished and had to scramble to find it to finish it for her party tonight because I hid it so well and it took me forever to find! I sewed on some vintage pearls and attached a chain from the craft store.

Crochet Bougainvillea

I finally finished my Bougainvillea hairpiece to wear to the next 3 weddings. We're halfway done for the year, woohoo! I found the pattern through Ravelry on Crochetology.net.

Strawberry Season!

I can't wait to go strawberry picking next week when school gets out. And to give my friend's baby this strawberry ensemble birthday gift:















I found the pattern for the booties here and sewed some matching flowers onto a tank top. And the basket of strawberries was inspired by this pattern on Ravelry.

Butterfly Garden Mobile

My friend's baby shower was this weekend. Months ago, I grilled her about the colors/theme she chose for the baby's room so I could make the perfect gift. I combined the butterfly pattern from Charmed Yarn and the Branch Mobile from Amigurumi Two, Crocheted Toys for Me, You and Baby Too by Ana Paula Rimoli and came up with this mobile to match the crib set:




















Everyone oohed and aahed when Michelle opened her gift from me. It was nice to know that my work was appreciated! She even saved the cute chain and flower that I used to package the gift:

Vermont

We just got back from Vermont where we stayed at the most amazing cottage. As soon as we got there, I felt like I was stepping into and Anthropologie store. From the Ball jar lighting fixtures to the shabby chic furniture and dishes, everything was perfect.






























We started off with a whole grains baking class at King Arthur Flour.













































We went cross country skiing at Dartmouth where the intermediate trail seemed like a double black diamond. I think I fell more than anyone.















Everywhere I went, I got compliments on the convertible hat I am wearing in this picture. I got the pattern for it here. I told Danny that I would make him one, but I think he was too excited about his personalized tractor hat.















We also went to Billings Farm in Woodstock for a sleigh ride and to visit the adorable baby cows. The farmhouse was full of antiques like this marble sink that I want in my future bathroom, a vintage creamery machine, and a toleware pantry.













































Last but not least, we got to experience the true tastes of Vermont. And not just the cheese and maple syrup!

Angry Birds

I didn't want a Valentine's Day gift this year. Maybe it has something to do with my excessive spending on arts and crafts. So James made me butternut squash soup and I made him an angry bird and an egg-thief pig:















I have been looking for a free pattern to make these for quite a while and was so excited when I came across them on angels have the phone box through Ravelry. The directions were very clear and they were so quick and easy to make! Another two to add to the homemade crochet animal pile that is quickly amassing in our bedroom...

Crocheted Turtles

Rain, rain, go away, the little turtles want to play! Or something like that. I think they're really just waiting for James to get home from his business trip to Canada tonight. I crocheted the mommy turtle and her babies as a surprise to keep him company on his trip, but of course he forgot to take them. So now they're waiting patiently for him to come home. And to see if he brought back a souvenir! Some salt and pepper shakers would be nice!















The pattern for the turtle family is from the book "Amigurumi Two!" by Ana Paula Rimoli. It is full of the most adorable toys - perfect projects for a rainy day. Hopefully our little turtles will get to see the sun tomorrow!
